In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Charlotte; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in North Carolina are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 amβ8:30 pm. Charlotte is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Charlotte follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Everything we ordered from the dumpling lady was great. We got the family meal with the dan dan noodle, cumin beef, shrimp and chicken dumplings, and pork and chive dumplings. The dumplings were highlight but everything was delicious. Both noodle dishes were pretty spicy so if you dont like spice id get another dish.

Ehhh.. not good in my opinion. Ordered and within 5 mins, food was being brought out. No problem.. except food was a let down. I ordered the pan fried pork buns, smashed cucumbers (which came with white rice), and garlic green beans. Buns: it comes with 6 and I ate the first one, no problem.. except I had a weird after taste. I then started eating a second one and realized it may have been the oil used. So, I stopped eating the part cooked in the oil (which would be the bottom) and attempted to eat the tops. That didnβt help much because the meat was kind of dry on the inside. In total, I think I ate 3.5/6 buns. Green beans- sorry, but terrible. The green beans were hard as if it was microwaved.. but it did not make eating them any better. I ate maybe two bites of it. Then it was a no for me! Trash!! Smashed cucumbers- more like sliced! No problem. But man.. no good!! The cucumbers sat in this oil?! Idk.. an abundance of something.. but either way.. I ate a couple and thatβs all I could do. The rice- just rice. A little mush but ehh.. whatever.. I didnβt eat it either. Overall.. 1 out of 5. I wish I took a picture of my remaining food.

Stopped in for a quick bite! Food is ready really fast and is simple yet incredibly delicious. We tried a few different dumplings, the short ribs, and fried rice, my favorite was the pork belly dumplings!

Went to the Optimist Hall location and wanted to try this one. I feel like this location has a few more options. Staff was really nice and food was delicious! Got the Nei Jiang Beef Noodles & Sweet Pork Bellt dumplings. The perfect spice level and filling! The Dumpling Lady is a new fave!

Ohhhh how I love her Sweet Pork Belly dumplings. They have the most delectable and delicate thin wrappers with copious amount of meat that is moist and packed with flavor. Each bite is an explosion of chilling oil, onion, and five spice which plays well with the sweet pork belly. Its cute and cooked so its not greasy or crispy but succulently moist. I also order the classic Dan Dan which isn't too spicey but has a nice kick. I came during dinner and received these huge portions. I typically get the lunch portion which is more than enough to satiate my hunger. I forgot how l massive the regular portions are. I had some left for lunch the next day. Its great to share too.
